More Casinos in California Join Commerce Casino against Legalized Online Poker

Last week  we  told you about the outrage amongst poker  players in California over the  realization that Commerce  Casino, the biggest land based poker room  in  the US is against the legalization of  online poker except  for in California only. Commerce Casino management made it clear that they do not support Barney Franks H.R.2267 bill, which would legalize online gambling across the United States. Players were angry and outraged at this turn of events and so were the Poker Player Alliance who spoke out against Commerce Casino and called for players to let their voices be heard by calling the casino and showing their disappointment. Online Casino Fighting Back in South Africa's Ban

In the first wake of casinos online reaction to South Africa's banning of all online gambling this week the first gaming site to fight back is Piggs Peak Casino, a casino only available to South African players. Piggs Peak plans to start their appeal process on Friday, which just adds to their already online gambling fight to legalize their own casino operations in South Africa.

The Operations Director, Lew Saul Koor announced "the company will not give up without a fight", this declaration was sent out to all of their registered players via email yesterday. During the time of appeal, Piggs Peak plans on staying operational, and Koor went on to say, "Until the appeal has been heard and judgment is set our business will go forward as usual as agreed to by the Gambling Boards". Legalizing Online Poker in Holland is in the Cards

The Dutch Justice Ministry has recommended that allowing a limited number of online poker sites to apply for licenses and operate within their country. Ernst Hirsch Ballin the Justice Minister reported this commission report and has recommended that the government give up its "monopoly" on gambling. Legal experts and home affairs Ministry Officials who read this report gave a comprehensive report, which favored the legalization of poker in Holland. This is along the same lines as the USA online casinos, or at least how the USA wants to legalize online gambling.

Legal wars within the Dutch Government have been ongoing with online gambling sites such as Bet Fair and Ladbrokes over the De Lotto monopoly which were overseen by the European Court of Justice have failed to change the gambling situation but with this new recommendation there seems to be a new breathe of light into the chance of legalizing online poker even if its only in small amounts at first. PokerStars Finds Chinese Poker Gang & $587,000

We have all heard about poker "bots" at online poker sites, which are not real players and are there to take your cash, well now we have "gangs" infiltrating the biggest poker site online, pokerstars. A Chinese poker gang has been caught with taking over $587,000 from poker players around the world who play at pokerstars.

This "gang" of poker players would collude together and play at the "Double or Nothing" Sit and Go Tournaments at PokerStars and share hand information making it possible to con their victims out of the cash. The Chinese gang is said to be from Hangzhou China and would play in the $52 and higher tables with more than half the seats at these tables occupied by members of their gang. Add Israel to the List of Countries Banning Online Gambling Casino Sites

It seems that one country after another is ordering ISPs to block internet-gambling sites in their country. Starting with Australia last year and moving on to include Russia, China, N Korea, France and now Israel each one of these countries governments have in some  way or another bullied or harassed ISPs to police gaming websites.

Police in Israel have sited "section 224 of the Penal Code" as their governing law, which states, "gambling is illegal in Israel". Israeli police have instructed these ISPs that they have 48 hours to comply and get these site blocked. However, on the other side of the fence, the ISPs have said that the police have no foundation or legal authority to demand this ban. The next few days will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
